This week for something different we have decided to highlight a few of the lesser known road rules and their associated penalty.
How many of these were you aware of?
- Ride motorbike with passenger under 8 years of age $146
- Tow bicycle, tricycle, power assisted cycle, toy vehicle or wheelchair $110
- Drive with TV or VDU operating and likely to distract another driver $146 and 3 demerit points (not including navigational devices)
- Driver drives with a person or animal in his or her lap $256
- Driving with front fog lights on in clear weather conditions $44
- Pedestrian fail to use pedestrian facility at level crossing $44
- Pedestrian cross level crossing while warning lights or bells operating $44
- Pedestrian hitchhike on a road $44
- Pedestrian wash or clean vehicle’s windscreen or offer on a road $44
- Pedestrian on roadway fails to face oncoming traffic unless impracticable $44
- Bicycle rider fail to keep at least one hand on handlebars $44
- Ride bicycle across children’s or pedestrian crossing $66
- Travel in motor vehicle with part of body outside window or door $110
